MORLEY SUBURB PROFILE

Situated approximately 10 kilometres northeast of Perth’s CBD, Morley is an established suburb within the City of Bayswater. Home to Galleria Shopping Centre and the adjoining Morley Bus Station, the suburb has grown into a significant shopping and commercial hub since the late 1950s.

Originally known as Morley Park, the area’s name began appearing on maps in the early twentieth century and was adopted following the subdivision of the Morley Park Estate after the First World War. The name is believed to honour Charles William Morley, who farmed in the area during the 1860s and 1870s.

Today, Morley combines its longstanding local identity with the convenience of an established retail and commercial centre close to Perth.
